About the Engraving Wizard

The most-asked question I get is "How and why did you ever decide to get into the engraving business?"  

It is a very simple answer - I like helping people and saving them money. 

Back in 1981, I moved to California from New York (Rockland County) and teamed up with my best friend in another business which I still own (Have Wash Will Travel, Inc.) and still operate. 

Like any business in the beginning, it's hard to split up the profits when there isn't that much money coming in for two families, so we both went our different directions, and he has done very well over the years. 

Anyway, in 1996 my clients from my other business starting asking me where they could get a sign made at a reasonable cost. 

 My brother at the time owned a trophy business (Crown Trophy) back east so we talked about it, and I decided to buy my first engraver.

Well, one thing lead to another and now I have a stamp machine for making rubber stamps, a universal 40 watt laser that is used for cutting acrylic or wood products (like plaques, directory strips etc.), and a Roland vp540 wide format printer which prints stickers, banners, posters, magnetic signs, decals and anything that deals with vinyl.  We also have a cold lamination machine. 

YES, I'M OUT OF CONTROL! 

But to get back to the question (WHY). 

Well, over the past 24 years I have helped a lot people save money on projects like getting a plaque for a Marine who was getting shipped out or a baseball team that needed trophies and didn't have very much money or the VFW POST that honors a vet who has passed away......... the list goes on. 

I can't help everyone but when the phone rings, I will do my best to create what they may need at a lower cost than a normal store-front business.
